What is Metal Polishing?
Metal polishing is where engineering meets art, it’s the process of refining the
roughness of a metal surface using a series of abrasives. In short, the smoother the
metal surface the more reflective it will be. Metals such as stainless steel and brass
can be polished to a crystal clear mirror finish. The process is labour intensive and
takes a lot of time, skill and experience.
At SCP we appreciate that different parts will have different finishing requirements
therefore we offer a range of finishes from the budget friendly “satin” & “bright” polish
to our standard “commercial mirror” right up to “super mirror”. This ensures all our
customers are satisfied with the results while keeping within budget.
Industries we provide metal polishing services to:
- Engineering & Manufacturing

Our Workshop
Our metal polishing workshop is fully equipped with a range of both traditional and modern polishing machines & tools along with surface analysis, ultrasonic cleaning and light fabrication equipment. For mass finishing and deburring we also have a large vibratory trough capable of processing hundreds of small parts at a time.
Metal Polishing Benefits
Corrosion Resistance: Metal polishing is the best way to create a surface that resists rust and corrosion
Aesthetic Appeal: It restores the shine of a metal object to its previously polished surface and also creates a new and enhanced appearance
Improved Chemical Resistance: To protect the metal from the damaging effects of the chemicals, polishing is the best way
Ease in Cleaning: A shiny, gleaming, and polished surface prevents adhesion of food, dirt, or contaminants that can otherwise get attached to the metal surface
